"[W]e would have to believe that we ended up where we are since of an unlikely lottery sketch," the authors write in their document, which is to be available in The Astronomical Journal. "But maybe there is more to the draw than we have hitherto-realised?"
With these kinds of huge and highly hypothetical calculation, what might refine the predictions could be further discovery about the composition and position of additional exoplanets. Until that time, as the -researchers admit, their findings may require to be taken with a granule of salt.
"Whenever you find amazing that sticks out," one of the side, Erik Zackrisson from Uppsala University, tell Scientific American, "that means that either we are the consequence of a very unlikely lottery draw or we don’t appreciate how the draw works."
